iPods Pre-Service Checklist

Step 1:
Ensure your iPod is fully charged.

Step 2:
Retry your iPod with a different USB port on your computer, not a USB port on your keyboard or hub.

Step 3:
To update and reinstall your iPod software, first download and/or check the latest version of iTunes.

Step 4:
Try a restore, however as this will erase your songs and files.

What happens to my iPod
When you submit your iPod for service it is ordinarily replaced with a fully refurbished model. Each fully refurbished iPod will be returned with a cosmetic refresh with no scratches or dents. Further if you had an engraving on the back of your iPod this will also be re-created. In essence, your iPod will be replaced with a model that is identical if not in better condition than before.
